Children’s Day 2018: On November 14 every year, Children’s Day is celebrated all across India. It commemorates the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, who, due to his love for children was fondly known as Chacha Nehru. The day emphasises on the importance of giving love, attention and affection to children.

Children’s Day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year as a tribute to India’s First Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Fondly known as Chacha Nehru among children, he advocated for children to have fulfilled education.

The first ever Children’s day was celebrated in 1954. The idea of a universal Children’s Day was suggested by Mr. V.K. Krishna Menon and it adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
